at the mic

ACCESSIBILITY INFO

Perfect Lovers Coffee is in a small strip of shops, located at 2823 N Roxboro St. Durham, NC.  There is one (1) dedicated, accessible parking place in front of the shop, where there is one (1) entrance. Behind the store, accessible by an alley on the crossroad of Edgewood Street, is a large parking lot, with additional accessible parking.  The ramp for the store is also in the back parking lot, and leads to the second entrance, on the store’s outdoor garden patio, which doubles as a low-sensory space.

Inside, the large one-story gallery-style space has high ceilings, and hard floors.  There are a few soft chairs and high stools closer to the front of the store. Low-sensory sounds and lighting are used in the space.  One (1) single-stall gender-neutral restroom is available at the back of the store, large enough for a wheelchair, with a non-automatic door.

During both CANDOR’s Torchlight Artist Residency Public Opening, Thursday, May 22 (starting at 6pm)  and the Embers & Echoes Fundraiser for Torchlight Artists Residency Friday, May 30 (starting at 7:30 pm) there will be folding chairs for some seating, and some of the tables will  have light refreshments. The hybrid Embers & Echoes event will feature ASL and video screens with Closed Captions.  Masking is not required and is encouraged.

CANDOR operates on the traditional, ancestral lands of the Eno, Occaneechi, Tuscarora, Shakori, Sissipahaw, and Saponi Peoples.  We pay respect to their elders, both past and present, who have been stewards of this land for generations. We engage in our work here with humility and reverence for the original peoples of this land and hold awareness of the legacy of violence, displacement, forced migration, and settlement.
